Non Make Up Favorites

Non Make Up Favorites

There are so many things that fall under the umbrella of “beauty products.” This post is all about the things I use and love that aren’t considered make up. Let me know what you use and how you like it! Let’s get started….

Matrix Biolage Normalizing Clean Reset Shampoo

33.8 Oz $24.99

So to start things off I’d like to talk about the best shampoo I’ve found so far. My hair is very straight and flat, and I’ve tried a millions different shampoos over the years. Most have left my hair too greasy, too dry, without volume and coarse as hell. This is the first shampoo that truly cleans my hair and leaves it feeling healthy and soft without leaving a greasy residue. I especially suggest this for people that use a lot of product in their hair, this really gets everything out leaving your hair fresh and full of life.

Redken All Soft Conditioner

33.8 Oz $34.99

While the top of my head gets greasy in no time flat, my ends can get dry and brittle just as fast. This conditioner is by far the best, and it leaves my hair so soft and silky I can’t help but run my fingers through it over and over and over again. This is a little pricy, but totally worth it for those of us with dry hair. Especially since I died my ends lighter, this has saved my over processed hair.

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleaning Masque

5.0 Oz $24.00

You can buy all the expensive make up in the world, and it won’t matter if you don’t have the right canvas to work with! That is why I like to make sure to keep up with my skin care routine at all times. I use this mask about once a week because it can be a bit drying, but nothing a little moisturizer can’t fix. I usually leave this mask on for 10-15 minutes at night before bed, and when I remove it I can feel all the dirt and old makeup being taken away. It is so clarifying and intense and it feels so good! Also, it may look like a small tub but a little goes a long way, I’ve had this for over a year and it’s still going strong!

Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen

DSC_1631

3.0 Oz $9.99

I have been trying to be better lately about always putting sunscreen on my face before going outside. The Alabama sunshine is intense all year round, and the SPF15 in my foundation just does’t cut it. I love this sunscreen because it feels weightless and soaks deep into my skin. Sometimes sunscreen can irritate the skin on my face and around my eyes, so I like to buy the sensitive skin formula when I can. This can cause some flashback, but nothing too bad.

Lavanilla Healthy Body Butter in Pure Vanilla

DSC_1632

6.7 OZ $19.00

This has been a new obsession of mine. I got this during the Sephora VIB Rouge %20 off sale and have been using it non stop since. While it is very thick and moisturizing, I have to admit that the main reason I love it is because of the smell. Vanilla is one of my favorite scents, it totally relaxes me and puts me at ease, so anything vanilla scented has to be mine. The best part about this lotion is how long the smell lasts on my skin. I will put this on, walk to class, sit for hours and still smell vanilla in the air!

It’s A 10 Miracle Leave In Plus Keratin

DSC_1635

10.0 Oz $39.96

I have tried every hair product under the sun. I have given up on anything promising me “beach waves” or extra volume, because I just end up with crunchy, awkward hair. Then I met this little bottle. When I first went blonde, I would get out of the shower and brush my hair for almost an hour. There was nothing that made brushing out my dry rats nest easier, until my roommate let me borrow her It’s A 10. A few sprays of this and my hair almost detangles itself. It is pretty expensive, but it does so many things that you don’t have to spend money on any other products besides shampoo and conditioner. This was a life saver.

Aquaphor Advanced Therapy

DSC_1639

1.75 Oz $6.29

I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have a huge tub of this stuff next to my best. It is the only thing that fixes my chapped lips and cheeks in the winter. Sometimes I will put it under my eyes before bed, and when I wake up my eyes are plump and moisturized and ready for shadow! I keep some in every purse and my backpack, I cannot live without it.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

DSC_1641

1.7 Oz $15.00

This is the best face wash for the morning. The cucumber smell really wakes my skin up and helps me get the day started. It doesn’t foam up, which is great when my skin is feeling dry. I like buying the smaller bottle for $15 because I only use a tiny drop and I feel like I’m saving money.

Clinique All About Eyes Rich

DSC_1646

0.5 Oz $32.00

I am so sad to almost be out of this stuff because it is pricy, but I will be rebuying. I put this on right before doing my make up every day, focusing mostly under my eyes. My under eyes can get super dry and flaky out of no where when I put concealer on them, so I have to make sure they are nice and moisturized. I’ve tried other cheaper creams, but none of them really hold a candle to the All About Eyes.

Philosophy Just Release Me Eye Makeup Remover

DSC_1648

6.0 Oz $19.00

I got this for $10 during some sale a while ago and shoved it in my drawer and never used it until a few months ago. I want to kick old me for not finding this earlier. This takes off all my eye makeup without me needing to rub my eyes and basically pull all my lashes out. It doesn’t sting my eyes at all even if I get it right in them.

L’Occitane Ultra Rich Face Scrub

DSC_1651

3.2 Oz $34.00

I’ve only recently started exfoliating my face, and I’m never turning back. I use this once a week to lightly scrub away the dead skin and other things from my face. It leaves my skin feeling so fresh and soft it’s crazy. Its very rich and non drying, which was my biggest concern.

Olay All Day Moisturizer Sensitive

DSC_1653.JPG

6.0 Oz $12.49

If we are being honest, I have to thank my mom for this one. She has been using this for years, and gave me a bottle when I was home for a break last year. It is so cheap and amazing I don’t know why everyone doesn’t talk about it all the time. My makeup goes on so smoothly and lasts for hours.

Etude House Wonder Pore Toner

DSC_1658

250ML $11.98

So I have pretty large pores around my nose, and while primer helps them, I hate the way they look when I’m not wearing makeup. This stuff has made a noticeable difference in the visibility of my pores since I’ve started using it. It is not drying at all and works instantly.

Glowingly yours,

Jess
