Colourpop Haul 1/29/16

Colourpop Haul 1/29/16

So as you may know, I am a huge fan of Kathleen Lights, she is so sweet and funny I love watching her tutorials and reviews. She recently released another collection with Colourpop called Where The Night Is, and I had to pick up a few things from it. Everything in this haul except Puppy Love is from either this collection, or her previous one called Where The Light Is.

Aquarius Lippie Stick $5.00

What Colourpop says: “A soft pink nude in a crème finish.”

Since getting this, I have worn this pretty much every time I go out with make up on. It is such an easy, pretty color to throw on. It looks good with everything, and the Creme finish is moisturizing and doesn’t settle into the lines of my lips. I didn’t buy the matching lip liner because I have a lot of colors like it, and I don’t think this needs a liner, it is so cream yet long lasting.

Puppy Love $5.00

What Colourpop says: “This soft peach with pink & gold duo chrome in a Pearlized finish is more than just a pretty shadow. All proceeds from the sale of “Puppy Love” will be donated to Best Friends Animal Society and their NKLA effort to Save Them All.”

This is the one thing I got that isn’t from one of Kathleen’s collections. I got this shadow because a). its such a pretty highlight shade and b). it helps out animals! I love using this under my brow bone and in the inner corner of my eye to brighten up a darker look. This shadow is very subtle, so it needs some work to be built up.

Kathleenlights $5.00

What Colourpop says: “Bright golden copper in a pearlized finish.”

This is from Kathleen’s first collar with Colourpop, Where The Light Is. This color is such a perfect coppery gold, and it is so crazy pigmented you barely touch it and get opaque color payoff. I love applying this all over the lid with a dark brown in the outer corner. Makes my eyes look super green!

Weenie $5.00

What Colourpop says: “A pinky rose gold in a pearlized finish.”

This is without a doubt my favorite shadow I got. It is from her new collar Where The Night Is, and its named after her dog which is so adorable. This is such a stunning rose gold, of all the shades I bought, I have used this one the most. I love patting this onto the center of my lid with my finger for a pop of shimmer, or under my lower lash line to make my eyes appear bigger.

Porter $5.00

What Colourpop says: “A warm burgundy with gold multi-dimensional gold glitter on top in a metallic finish.”

I’ve really been trying to incorporate more burgundy into my eye looks. This color (also named after one of her dogs) is so cool because of the glitter in it. I’m used to matte reds because it is considered such a difficult to work with shade, and adding glitter makes it even more intimidating somehow. So far I’ve used this on my lower lash line to deepen up some of my warmer looks.

Blaze $5.00

What Colourpop says: “Coco bronze sprinkled with multi-dimensional glitter in a metallic finish.”

This color goes along with Kathleenlights, and they really do pair perfectly together. I love doing a halo eye with this all over the lid and a bit of Kathleenlights patted onto the center. This color pulls a lot cooler than I first assumed it would, and I kinda like that about it. It is very versatile and can go with both warm and cool eye looks.

Midnight $5.00

What Colourpop says: “A black undertone with a ton of gold glitter on top in a Metallic finish.”

This is the most interesting shade I got for sure. It is a basic black shadow with a crap ton of gold glitter in it. I’m usually not one for glitter bombs because I end up with glitter all over my face an hour later, but for this I make an exception. The glitter in this actually sticks to the eye and doesn’t migrate down my cheeks. It looks so different over a tan base than over a black base which I love, it’s like having two shadows in one.

Let me know your Colourpop favorites! Thanks for reading!!

Glowingly yours,

Jess
