March Favorites 2016

It’s time for my monthly favorites!

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer $17.00-$37.00

So I picked up this mini primer in Sephora and decided to try it out. I get very shiny in my t-zone, and I have yet to find a primer that keeps me matte all day. This does a really great job at keeping me oil free, especially on my forehead and nose. I don’t put this all over my face because I get a bit dry around the edges of my face. I really only put this on my forehead, the tip of my nose and my chin. Once this runs out I will probably just buy another one of the smaller ones since I only use just a bit.

Loreal Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer $12.99

I’ve had this primer for a while, but only just recently started reaching for it. I never used to like it because it settled into the pores around my nose, but now I only put this on my cheeks and forehead, and I use a pore filling primer around the center of my face. This gives me a nice glow without making me look greasy or sweaty .

Revlon Color Stay Whipped Creme Foundation in 240 $14.99

I use this foundation super sparingly, as it is super thick and can get cakey really fast. I like to use this on days when my skin is looking particularly bad or dull. You really have to set this foundation with powder quickly, because it will crease or settle into lines/pores. But once it is set, it gives a stunning, flawless finish.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation in 115 $43.00

Since I am such a huge fan of the HD liquid foundation, I figured I would try the stick version out. Usually stick foundations are super thick and greasy, but this one is different. It looks so natural on the skin. I like dabbing this all over my face and then patting it in with a damp beauty blender. It isn’t a fully matte finish, but it has great coverage and doesn’t settle into lines and pores.

Make Up Geek Contour Powder Pan in Break Up (Cool Porcelain) $10.00

I always have a lot of trouble finding a good contour shade, because everything pulls so orange on me. I love the Make Up Geek Contour line because there are so many different shades, and it was very easy to choose which one I wanted. I got the lightest, coolest shade because those tend to looks the most like a real shadow on my skin. I love this color because even though its not orange, it isn’t so gray that my face looks dead. The Formula is insanely creamy and blendable, and it looks very natural.

Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in Bronzer $14.99

So I’ve really only gotten into bronzers the past few months. I never knew how to apply them without looking orange all over, so I tried to stay away from them. This bronzer changed everything. There is nothing wrong with this, I seriously can’t find a flaw in it. The color gives a perfect, bronzy sheen without looking muddy or fake. It is drugstore priced which is great. My favorite thing about this product though is the smell. It smells like a beach vacation. I can smell this on my face for hours after I put it on, and even when I’m sitting in class, it smells like I’m laying out on a beach somewhere.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Light Neutral $28.00

My holy grail concealer used to be the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, but I think this has taken it’s place. My one complaint about the NARS concealer was how thick it was, and it would sometimes crease under my eyes. This concealer has all the coverage of the NARS concealer, without the thickness. It goes on so smoothly and blends beautifully. I will for sure be repurchasing this when I run out.

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eye Shadow Palette $49.00

I have been loving this palette the past few weeks! I already had the original Chocolate Bar Palette, and I really love the formula of the shadows. I wanted to try this one out, because I really love some of the more cool toned shadows. The only shadows in this palette that I haven’t really touched yet are the pinks, because I’m still figuring out how to use them without looking sickly. My two favorite shades are probably Molasses Chip and Mocha, they look so great together. Also, of course, this palette smells like chocolate which is always a plus.

Make Up Geek Foiled Eye Shadow Pan in Mesmerized $10.00

Every single time I have done a full glam face of makeup this month for going out, I have used this shadow. It is such a great balance between purple and taupey/silver and it looks so stunning with so many different eye colors. I use this shade on all my friends when I did their make up for their sorority formal, and no matter the skin tone or eye color, it looked awesome.

Beauty Blusher by Beauty Blender $16.00

I picked this up specifically to use to blend out my under eye concealer. It is a lot smaller than the original beauty blender, and it fits perfectly under my eyes. I love the finish this gives. I have never really liked using a brush to blend out concealer because I find it leaves streaks that look very unnatural. This solves that problem.

Eco Tools Domed Bronzer Brush $9.99

DSC_2056.jpg

Like I said earlier in this post, I have only recently got into bronzers. I think that having the proper brush is just as important as the proper shade of bronzer. This is the only brush I use for bronzer, because it is so big and fluffy that it applies bronzer very softly and diffused, making it look much more natural. This brush is also very affordable!

Jergens Crema Deep Conditioning Shea Butter Body Cream $6.49

DSC_2030.jpg

I have fallen in love with this body cream this month, especially after bringing it on vacation with me to the beach. My legs get insanely dry, and 90% of the time I put lotion on them, it feels like there is no difference. This is the only cream I’ve used that has left my legs feeling noticeably more moisturized and soft. Only downside is it smells a tiny bit like Play Doh, but it doesn’t linger.

Bath & Body Works 3 Wick Candle in Mahogany Coconut $22.50

DSC_2034.jpg

I was in Bath & Body Works with my boyfriend picking up another one of my favorite candles (Mahogany Teakwood) when I picked this up. I noticed it because it had the word Mohogany in the name, so I figured it would smell somewhat like Teakwood. While it does have a hint of that woodsy, man smell in it, it is mostly a beachy, relaxing smell. It smells almost exactly like the Butter Bronzer from Physician’s Formula.

Let me know what products you have been loving this past month! Thanks for reading!!

Glowingly yours,

Jess
