My Hair Must-Haves

When it comes to hair, I have a hoarding problem with products. I have naturally straight, brown hair, and I have bought everything to try and change it up. Here are a few of the products that I continue to reach for when I want to upgrade my do.

It’s A 10 Miracle Finishing Spray $19.00

I hate hairspray. It always makes my hair crunchy and tangled and leaves it smelling odd until I scrub it out. This was the first product I’ve used that didn’t do that. This holds my curls without changing the texture of my hair. My waves will last basically until I decide to wash them out, and it has a nice scent that doesn’t linger. I do wish this was more travel friendly though, because this can is huge and it can be a bitch to store. Let me know if any of you have come across any mini versions of this spray!

Straight Sexy Hair Smooth & Seal Anti-Frizz and Shine Spray $19.00

When I was younger and away at summer camp, I had a counselor that had a huge mess of crazy curls. Whenever she straightened her hair, she used a spray to keep it from getting damaged, and it felt so amazing in her hair when I touched it, and in mine whenever she let me use it. I completely blanked years later when I started straightening my own hair on what product she used, until I saw this recently and it just clicked. This was the mystery product. I remember the bottle and the scent and everything else. This stuff you spray onto sections of your dry hair before you straighten it to create a layer between the heat and your hair. It leaves my hair completely frizz free and unbelievably shiny and smooth. If you frequently straighten your hair, you need to go pick this up right now.

Moroccanoil Root Boost $29.00

The downside to having very long hair is a lack of volume. I have tried to cut layers in to give it more life, but after a few hours it just falls flat. This stuff gives me the best blowout look ever without having to spend the money at a salon. This is admittedly a little pricey, but anything that gives me volume I am willing to spend money on.

CHI Shine Infusion Hair Shine Spray $16.00

My hair can look a bit dull sometimes, especially if I haven’t washed it that day, so I always like to have a product that adds some shine. This stuff does the trick perfectly. I usually spray this in my damp/almost dry hair before I finish blowing it out. It adds the perfect amount of shine without looking greasy, which happens very easily to my hair.

Kiehl’s Strengthening and Hydrating Hair Oil-In-Cream $25.00

Kiehl’s is one of my all time favorite brands out there. Everything from them feels so fresh and natural, and the smells are always refreshing. This luxurious cream leaves my normally straw-like dry ends soft and full of life. When I forget to use this, I can see a noticeable difference in the way my hair feels. A little of this goes a long way too, so you really get your moneys worth. I’ve had this bottle for about 2 years now and I am only half way through it.

Clairol Shimmer Lights Blonde & Silver Shampoo $9.00

This shampoo is a bright, brilliant purple that will turn the walls of your shower violet, but it is worth it if you have blonde hair. My hairdresser gave me this shampoo after adding blonde highlights to my hair to help tone it. My hair always pulls red, so my blond highlights can get brassy very fast. Whenever I notice that happening, I use this shampoo (be sure to leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing) and my hair looks like I just got it done! This is very inexpensive and can greatly stretch out the time between coloring appointments.

Let me know what your must have hair products are! Thanks for reading!!

Glowingly yours,
