Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipsticks

Over the past year, I feel like the gap between drugstore and middle end products has been closing. It has never been easier to find cheap yet amazing quality make up, and I couldn’t be happier! I am very picky when it comes to lipstick formulas because my lips are very dry and I am a wuss about wearing bright colors. I never really found any lipsticks at the drugstore that I was crazy about until I picked up these bad boys. Maybelline makes a great lip product, and I think these are their best ones yet. I have four of these Creamy Mattes, and I adore each one. This post will be a quick review of the different colors and how they perform. Let’s get started!

Clay Crush $7.99

This is much light in person, and much more nude. This color is a bit too light for me to wear it on its own, but I love adding it to the center of my lips to create a little ombre effect or to lessen the intensity of a darker color. If you are very fair I think this would be a perfect nude for you!

Nude Nuance $7.99

This is such a lovely pink nude, it matches great with so many different looks. It looks a lot darker on me than I thought it would, but not in a vampy crazy way. These lipstick is so creamy and comfortable on the lips, they feel like a satin finish not a matte. Most matte lipsticks tend to be somewhat drying, but not these. If you are looking for an every day balanced nude, go pick this up and give it a try!

Touch Of Spice $7.99

This was the first one I picked up because I had seen everyone online going nuts for it, and I had to see what all the fuss was about. This color is so unique, I really don’t have anything else like it in my collection. It doesn’t really translate as red as it really is in the swatch. In person it wears like a rich terracotta red/nude hybrid that is just subtle enough for every day wear, but just colorful enough to give my face life. I love the way this feels on my lips, and it lasts so long. Since the formula is so creamy, it is super easy to reapply throughput the day and is the best to just toss in my purse. I am on the hunt for a lip liner that matches this perfectly, so if you have one let me know!

Divine Wine $7.99

Though this is the most drying of the four colors I have, this is actually my favorite. I can be a big baby when it comes to wearing darker reds, especially during the day, but this color helps me break that. The formula is so nice that I don’t worry about feathering or bleeding at all. I love this shade, something about it is just so perfect and balanced between a red and a purple. It is very hard to find a good vampy lip at the drugstore, but I think I’ve done it! If you want to try out a darker lip but don’t want to splurge, give this a try ASAP!

Let me know if you’ve tried out these Creamy Mattes and how you felt about them! Thanks for reading!!

Glowingly yours,

Jess
