So about a day after I cancelled my Ipsy subscription, I got an email that I was able to sign up for the Play box. I had put my name on a list ages ago, and I guess my turn was finally here! It is only $10 a month, which is the same as Ipsy, but I figured the odds of me getting product I would like was higher since it was Sephora. I just go try first box on Friday, and I am already hooked, and so happy I signed up.
Like other subscription services, this seems to come with a theme: The Minimalists. I am not quite sure what is so minimal about these products, but let’s just go with it.
A Perfect Air Day
I am a huge Bumble & Bumble fan, but I find it hard to spend the money on their products, so getting this was great. I’m still a little unsure about how to use it, but I’m sure I can figure it out. From the name I can already guess this is suppose to give you the volume of a blow out minus the heat damage, which I am skeptical about, but we shall see.
Oh So Fabu-lash
I bought this mascara when it first came out and loved it, but for some reason never repurchased it. I tend to stick with drugstore mascaras, because paying over $20 for something that I need to throw out in three months feels like a waste. The entire They’re Real line from Benefit is very hit or miss for everyone, people either love it or hate it. I personally love this mascara and the way it makes my lashes look. I have short stubby lashes and this gives me very long, thick looking lashes without leaving behind clumps or flakes. The one issue I have with this mascara is that it is a son of a bitch to remove, but that can also be seen as a good thing.
For The Sun Of It
Kind meh about getting this, because I just ordered the Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit which contains this. Honestly though, you can never have too much sunscreen, and I’m sure I will be happy to have this when I find myself walking to class in the Alabama sunshine. I cannot wait to see how this sits underneath make up, and if it makes me oily at all.
Drop A Tint
I am so happy I got this, because after hearing Kathleen Lights talk about this I have been dying to get it. I am happy that I can try it out before committing to the entire thing. Bronzers are very tricky for me to find, because they tend to all pull very red on me. This feels so amazing on my skin, and really does give me a natural looking glow. As of now, I have already decided to purchase the full size version of this.
In The Prime Of Light
This was the thing I was most excited to see! I have been adding this to my cart online for weeks now, never really having the guts to hit the checkout button. When it comes to illuminating primers, they either make my skin look like an oil slick or Jennifer Lopez, there is no in between. I have very high hopes for this, and I will update once I have a chance to really try it out.
Eau La La
I love Tocca perfumes, they are all so sophisticated and sexy. I only wish that these had a spray like other sample perfumes, but I have to admit, it does look sleek. I love throwing these in my purse when I go out so I can reapply whenever I want.
Let me know if you got the box and what you thought about these products! Thanks for reading!!
