Express Yourself!
I just received my box and decided to throw together a quick post about it before I get distracted by school starting!
Beauty For Real Shadow Stx in Ever Starstruck $19.00
“This paraben free and cruelty free, long-wearing, cream-to-powder eye shadow stick is easy to apply and is infused with meadowfoam seed oil to moisturize, rejuvenate, and reduce signs of aging.”
I’m not sure if I buy the whole ‘anti-aging’ thing, but as far as shadow sticks go, this one seems great! I love the color, it is a very subtle champagne pink. This isn’t super opaque, but it does give a nice shimmer wash to the lid. This stuff is very long lasting, when I first swatched it on my hand I had to really scrub to get it all off!
Doucce Cosmetics Maxlash Volumizer Mascara $22.00
“This creamy and vibrant formula recreates a kohl effect leaving your lashes thick, extremely volumized, and fashion forward. The extra long bristles combined with patented SEPA technology separate your lashes one by one before adding instant volumization.”
I have no idea what the fuck SEPA technology is, and I doubt it will ever factor into my mascara purchases, but whatever. This mascara seems very volumizing, and I’m scared it might end up being too clumpy for me. I have already have mascara on today (the day I opened this boxy), so it will take me a few days to really give this stuff a try.
Dirty Little Secret Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Phantom $10.00
“Create a long lasting velvet matte lip with this gorgeous liquid lipstick newly launched by Dirty Little Secret.”
This packaging immediately brings to mind Minnie Mouse. This product feels very lightweight and cheap, which I guess matches the 10 dollar price tag. I am a lover of all things liquid lipstick, so I am looking forward to seeing how long and well this wears.
Aloette Time Repair Serum $48.00
“Time Repair Serum is a powerful age-defying skin care complex, fortified with alpha and beta hydroxy acids to smooth away dead skin cells and powerful antioxidants to protect skin from damaging free radicals. Formulated for all skin types, this nonirritating, lightweight formula absorbs quickly to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a renewed radiance.”
I was pretty excited to get this, as I am always looking for a new serum to try out. This is the most expensive item in the box by far, and I cannot wait to see if it lives up to the price. I will probably start using this in the morning after waking up, because the texture feels very lightweight. I like to reserve my more oily, heavy duty serums for my night time routine.
Coastal Scents Blush + Bronzer Mini Palette and Angled Blush Brush $19.95
“Everything for a stunning face, all in one palette! It’s all about your creativity…it’s all about your look!”
I will always love receiving palettes in my subscriptions, it always makes me feel like I’m getting more than my money’s worth. I was excited to try this palette out because of all the different shades. This would be a great travel palette because it has blush, bronzer and a highlight and the packaging is sleek and compact. My favorite part about the palette is that it contains both a matte and shimmer bronzer and blush! Coastal Scents is such a great, cheap alternative for those just starting to fill out their collections.
Let me know your thoughts on this month’s products, and how you have been using them!
