Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Black No. 1

Kat Von D Metal Crush Shadow

After falling in love with KVD’s matte shadows, I decided I had to try at least one of the highly praised Metal Crush single shadows. I picked this shade because I didn’t want another bronze or gold, I wanted something bold and completely out of my comfort zone. Now that I’ve tried this one, I must say I cannot wait to collect them all! This formula is crazy pigmented and long lasting on the lid, no matter the primer. I wish the packaging was a tiny bit less lightweight, but the product itself outshines that small flaw.

Black No. 1 “metallic gunmetal”

This color is basically a black base with a crap ton of shimmer in it. The shimmer pulls very silver and green on me, but it can look different depending on what color base you use underneath. Because it is so glittery it does have some fallout, but almost all of the glitter stays on the lid however long you want it there. I love using this all over the lid for an intense smoky eye, or in the outer corner to deepen a look.

This is pretty expensive for a single shadow, but for the quality I’m willing to drop the cash on it. I doubt I will be able to buy them all up anytime soon though with a price tag like that.

Product Amount

0.10 oz

The pan is is large compared to other single shadows like MAC and Make Up Geek, so I definitely feel like I am getting my money’s worth. With a shade like this I don’t really see myself using all of it up very fast anyway.

Have any of you guys tried any of these Metal Crush shadows? If so, let me know your favorites!

Glowingly yours,
