Boxycharm September 2016

Camp Glam

I feel like I have been receiving my Boxycharm later and later every month! I was super excited to get this box after seeing the eye shadow palette that was going to come in it. I was not let down when I received this box. Let’s get into the review!

Studio Makeup On-The-Go Palette $49.95

“On The Go eyeshadow palette is a compilation of shades that updates the bare beauty look with a cosmopolitan attitude. The On The Go Eyeshadow Palette includes 9 shades that are perfect for creating day or night looks!”

This palette is like the love child between the Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Vol. 1 and the new Kylie Jenner Kyshadow Bronze Palette. It’s small enough to store and travel with easily, but not so small that you get no product. I was really shocked when I saw that this was almost $50 though! This palette is way too small to be worth that much. The shadows themselves though are really beautiful and buttery, and the range of shadows is perfect for a neutral palette.

This is a really nice browbone/inner corner highlight. I wish it was a tiny bit more pigmented, but its nothing a little Fix+ can’t fix.

This is a really nice shade to set my eyeshadow primer. It’s very close to my skin tone, and it evens everything out without looking flaky.

This was the shade that I was least impressed with honestly. I wish it was a more intense gold, but it works just fine once you build it up a bit.

This is a really nice crease/transition shade for a lot of looks. It doesn’t pull too warm or too cool so it can compliment a lot of different eye looks.

This is my favorite shadow of the bunch, it really blew me away. After being so disappointed by the first two shimmer shades, I was expecting this one to fall flat as well, but it really didn’t! This is such a stunning metallic copper color, and it looks like molten metal on the lids.

Another great transition shade. This one is a little darker and warmer than the first one, so it works well for deeper, more intense looks.

This color is really unexpected and amazing as well. Its hard to explain, and it looks a bit different in person. The texture appears almost matte, but it has some gold shimmer throughout it. This is great for the outer half of a brown smokey eye.

A classic matte chocolate brown is needed in every palette to round it out in my opinion. This one is a tiny bit chalky, but it is very pigmented and blends well.

A matte black is also needed in a practical palette! This one is kind of chalky as well, but man is it black!

Hikari Cosmetics Eye Liner in Raven$13.00

“The perfect mechanical eyeliner with a smooth formula for easy application”

I’ve gotten Hikari products before and they’ve been just alright. This eyeliner is actually pretty nice though. Its more of a gel formula so it glides on really nicely and doesn’t tug at my lids. I haven’t worn it all day yet so I can’t really speak to how well it stays on the water/tight line, but we’ll see.

Pür Cosmetics Lip Lure in Graceful $22.00

“Let your lips speak for you with beautifully bold color and brilliant shine! This richly pigmented lip lacquer saturates your lips in true color and pout-perfecting hydration. Using a unique, flocked shower-head applicator, this creamy, full-coverage liquid formula creates a show stopping look in just one stroke!”

I was also pretty happy to get this product, because I had heard that these Lip Lures were great. I got the color Graceful, which is a really pretty shimmery pinky brown shade. This formula is really comfortable on the lips, it doesn’t settle into my lines at all. It doesn’t truly dry down, but I like that become it doesn’t dry out my lips. I will actually be looking into buying a few more shades from this line!

Butter London Trend Nail Laquer in Yummy Mummy $15.00

“An 8-free lacquer in a heavily pigmented color & finish. This vitamin-enriched formula promotes nail strength and provides beautifully consistent coverage.”

Oddly enough I have never tried any of the Butter London nail polishes, so I was really excited to get this in the box. I absolutely love nude nail polish, especially when they have a little brown and grey in them. I haven’t been able to apply this yet because I have work on Saturday and I can’t have nail polish, but after I will put this on and see how it wears.

Project Beauty Hairgurt Smoothing Yogurt Hair Mask $11.00

“A smoothing yogurt hair masque made with yogurt protein, prebiotics, quinoa, a botanical oil blend and bio-keratin.”

I love any hair mask that comes with enough product to full saturate my whole head of hair. This smells like a strawberry banana smoothie! I haven’t tried this yet, but tomorrow I will put this in for an hour or so and see how it performs.

I really loved this month’s box! I was really happy with all of the products, and with the accumulative price coming in at $110.95 I really got way more than my $21 worth! Let me know what you got in your box this month and your thoughts on the products!

Glowingly yours,

Jess
