In honor of Lorac releasing their 3rd Mega Pro Palette in a few days, I thought I would review the original! When this was set to come out, I became obsessed with getting my hands on it. I was somewhat new to make up and had just recently fallen in love with the first Pro Palette, so I wanted more Lorac shadows. I stayed up all night constantly refreshing the Lorac website and when it finally became available I had it purchased within two minutes.
When it finally arrived, I didn’t even want to touch it because I was so amazed that I even managed to get my hands on it. At the time it was probably my most expensive make up item, and since it was limited edition, I left it alone because I was scared of hitting pan on some of the colors. After a while I honestly kind of forgot about it because it was so big and bulky which made it kind of annoying to pull out every day to do my eyes.
If I talked about every shade in the palette this post would be way too long, so I will only be writing a tiny bit about some of my favorite shades. I have included swatches of every color though. Let’s get started!
Cream
Fawn
Camel
This is a really beautiful transition shade. On the eyes it’s a really interesting mustard like color. I love pairing this with oranges and deep browns.
Sepia
Dusty Plum
Orchid
Mulberry
This is a standout shade from the palette. It is a really stunning berry red, and it isn’t chalky at all like a lot of mattes tend to be.
Espresso
White
Khaki
Brown
Stone
This shade looks really beautiful paired with a true metallic silver color.
Lilac
Wisteria
This is a really nice dusty mauve color that doesn’t lean pink like a lot do.
Gray
I was really interested in this gray because it has such a blue base!
Black
Opal
This shade is the perfect inner corner highlight, and you can even use it as a face highlight, it reminds me a lot of the NARS blush in Albatross.
Sand
Copper
Sienna
Apricot
I found this color really unique. Usually light oranges can make my eyes look sickly, but this is just pink enough to look really cute!
Blush
Merlot
Indigo
Vanilla
Cashmere
This is one of my favorite colors in the palette, it looks so stunning on the inner half of the lid.
Smokey Topaz
This is another one of my favorite shades. It is such a great single, all over the lid color.
Dusty Rose
Granite
Maroon
Deep Teal
I absolutely adore this color. I love really intense, forest greens and this looks so beautiful on the lid.
Caviar
All in all, this palette satiates my need to hoard limited edition products, but that’s really it. The colors are awesome and the quality is on par with all the other Pro Palettes, but if you didn’t get your hands on this you aren’t missing too much. All this being said, there is a very good chance I splurge on the new Mega Pro 3 because c’mon, how can I turn down all those earthy shades?
Let me know your favorite limited edition products!
Glowingly yours,
Jess
