September Favorites 2016

I know I say this every month, but this past month has really flown by, I feel like I just posted my August favorites! I have quite a few products this month, so settle in and let’s get started.

Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser $40.00

I had been agonizing over whether or not to splurge on this face wash for a long time now, but I am so happy I finally did. This stuff is definitely worth the money in my opinion. The makes my skin look so plump and refreshed every time I use it. I like to apply this to dry skin and massage it in a bit, then remove with warm water. My skin looks very vibrant and young. I haven’t really noticed this getting rid of my occasional breakouts, but they are hormonal so not much does. The packaging looks so pretty on my counter and the product smells amazing, kind of like oranges. I will for sure be repurchasing this when I run out!

Glossier Super Pure $28.00

This has only been in my collection for a few weeks but it is already pulling its weight. I sometimes break out around my hairline and nose, and this has kept me looking clear and radiant! I especially love using this after a weekend of drinking or eating poorly, it really leaves my face feeling cleansed.

Vichy Double Glow Peel Face Mask $20.00

with volcanic rock and AHA

I have always been hesitant to try chemical peel masks because my skin can be on the sensitive side, but this mask is amazing! My CVS recently started carrying some French drugstore staples (!!!!!) so I decided to try this product out. It is both a physical and chemical exfoliant as it contains volcanic rock (physical) and AHA (chemical). You only leave this on for 5 minutes and it is really easy to rinse off, no grit left behind. I have been using this once every 3 days and I have noticed that my skin feels a lot softer, especially my cheeks! The price is also pretty affordable considering there are very few peel masks from the drugstore.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation $39.00

I’m pretty sure I have put this foundation in another favorites post, but I really had to include it this month. I haven’t really touched any other foundation these past few weeks, I always find myself reaching for this. It is super lightweight, but it also manages to have great coverage. This lasts on my skin all day and never looks flaky or caked on. I prefer to use a brush with this foundation because it is so thin and a beauty sponge can suck up a lot of the product. I cannot recommend this foundation enough to people with combination skin, because it never looks greasy or dry.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Opal $38.00

I have had this product for a while now, but I have just recently fallen in love with it all over again. In the summer heat this stays on my skin and doesn’t settle into any texture on my cheeks. Because this is a cream product, it doesn’t fade patchy at all and is really easy to blend. I think the poured formula of the Shimmering Skin Perfectors are very underrated and underappreciated! They are never greasy, and they don’t separate on the skin. I have been dabbing a bit of this onto my cheek bones and cupids bow with my finger when I want a really lovely gold glow.

Chanel Le Blush Créme De Chanel in Présage

I really hate to rave about this blush since it is discontinued, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t wear this all summer. I will never know why Chanel discontinued their cream blush line, because it is by far the greatest cream blush I have ever used. The formula is the perfect consistency, it isn’t quite a cream, but it definitely isn’t a powder. I found this a while back on Glambot, which is a website where you can buy used makeup. I know that might sound gross, but they are really great about disinfecting the products that they resell. I love everything about this blush, from the classic black packaging to the tiny velvet pouch it came in! The color is such a stunning bright poppy/peach shade, it gives the perfect summer flush while still looking sun-kissed and young. If you ever come across any of these still in circulation, buy it ASAP!

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Sunkissed $42.00

I just recently had a whole post about this so I won’t drone on and on about it. Just know that this is the best cream/liquid bronzer I have ever used. It has a perfectly balanced undertone and it blends so naturally. If you love liquid face products, you need this bronzer in your life.

Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon in Ro(Cocoa) $25.00

These Highliner pencils are so amazing, especially for tight-lining and using on the waterline. These stay put and don’t smudge at all for hours. I have a few, but this is my favorite color, and I have been smudging it onto my lower lash line all month! This shade makes the green in my eyes really pop, and it never makes my eyes look small or overdone. There is a bit of shimmer in this, but it isn’t chunks of glitter that will irritate your eyes I promise!

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Espresso $9.99

I have been letting my brows grow in a bit so I haven’t needed too much product in that area, but when I do need to fill any little spots I have been reaching for this pencil. This is a really great alternative to the Anastasia Brow Wiz, and for half the price! The pencil is not too pigmented, which is a good thing when you want a natural looking brow. The only downside to this line is the lack of colors in the range.

MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara $18.00

I rarely find myself obsessing over a mascara, but this little guy has really impressed me this month. This products makes my straight, short lashes look fluffy and voluminous. It doesn’t clump easily at all and stays put. The formula isn’t so dry that it flakes off, but also isn’t so wet that it smudges everywhere. I will for sure be buying some backups of this!

Colourpop Lippie Stick in Aquarius $5.00

I have been loving this natural nude shade from the Kathleen Lights Colourpop collab. This color is so perfect for a laid back, every day look. I love throwing this in my purse or backpack and reapplying it throughout the day. Because it is a creme finish, it doesn’t last as long as a matte would, but it feels so comfortable on my lips I don’t mind having to touch it up.

Givenchy Le Vernis Intense Color Nail Lacquer in Beige Mousseline $23.00

I love nude nail polish, and no two nude polishes are ever the same. This is my fanciest nail product for sure, but it just looks so pretty on my vanity! The formula itself is pretty great as well. I only need two coats for it to look even and opaque, and it doesn’t chip easily at all. The shade is a perfectly balanced nude, not too brown, not too yellow. There are some lighter nude shades that can look kind of sallow and dull after a day or so, but this stays beautiful until I want to remove it!

Let me know what your favorites were this month and why!

Glowingly yours,
