NARS Audacious Lipsticks in Raquel, Vera and Bette

NARS Audacious Lipstick

Every now and then, you stumble upon a formula that fits you perfectly. This is what happened when I tried my first Audacious Lipstick from NARS. When these were first released, I of course balked at the high price tag. After seeing all the beautiful shades and swatching some on my hand in my local Sephora, I knew I had to get my hands on some of them. I currently have three shades, and in an ideal world, I will one day have them all.

“pink beige”

This is my favorite of the three I own. This is my perfect pinky nude lip, the undertone is flattering to my skin tone. It doesn’t wash me out or look jarring, it just looks perfect. This shade is very pigmented and goes on opaque with one swipe. Because these are so creamy they don’t last as long as a fully matte lipstick, but they feel so amazing on the lips I don’t care about their longevity. I can tweak this color with a brown or pink lip liner underneath, so it’s pretty versatile. If you are looking for a lovely pink nude lip, look no further!

“bright raspberry”

This color is totally out of my comfort zone, which is exactly why I bought it. If I am going to wear a bright lip color, I want the formula and wear to be as good as it gets. This is very opaque and even when it starts to fade, it looks like a subtle lip stain. This is a really beautiful pink berry shade, and it commands attention, so I prefer to pair it with a neutral, minimal eye look.

“bordeaux”

I bought this thinking it would be a much darker, purple shade, but I still love it! It pulls a very lovely deep berry red on me, which is perfect for the fall and winter. Of the three shades, this is probably the least opaque, but with a red or brown lip liner underneath it looks very rich.

Price

$32.00

These are expensive, but I am telling you they are worth it. Even if you just pick up one shade, you won’t regret it.

Let me know your favorite lipstick formula!

Glowingly yours,

Jess
