Best In Glow
I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get this post up! Between traveling and studying I’ve barely had time to play with these items, and I didn’t want to write anything until I knew a bit more about the products. The theme of this month was glow, which is probably the biggest buzzword in the beauty world this year. I was looking forward to a lot of these products, and I am happy to say I am not disappointed in anything from this month’s box!
What A Light Idea!
These past few months I have really seen the light when it comes to Cover FX. I think I just wrote them off as a full coverage foundation brand and left them alone. This year they have really been an important part of the glow phenomenon, and for good reason! Between this face primer and their Custom Skin Enhancer Drops, there is enough gleam to go around. I have a love/hate relationship with illuminating primers because I can never just use them alone all over my face, otherwise you can see every pore around my nose. This primer actually sat nicely on my entire face, and I didn’t feel or look oily or textured at all! The next time I decide to invest in a high end glow primer, I have a feeling it will be this one.
Go For The Rose Gold
I have been wanting to try one of these eye shadow sticks from Laura Mercier forever, but I could never justify spending almost 30 bucks for an oversized eye liner. I might have to suck it up though, because these are amazing. They are pigmented without being too thick and heavy, and they blend with powder shadows beautifully. This shade is the perfect all over the lid color for laid back, easy make up days. If you have a darker skin tone, this could also be used as a cream highlight!
In Wood Company
Something about Maison Margiela gets me every time. Maybe it’s because I recently read a long piece about some of his first shows and found myself completely enthralled. Maybe it’s because his “Beach Walk” perfume is my go-to summer/spring scent. Maybe I just love the no nonsense font. Whatever it is, I was happy to see this little sample, and I am never one to get worked up over a tiny perfume sprayer. This smells exactly like you think it does: deep and sexy, with a woodsy tinge. This may be my next rollerball purchase.
Hooray For Sorbet
This was the product I was probably the least excited to see, only because I already have it! I love the product though, so it isn’t a bad thing to get it. This is a really lovely moisturizer for the day time. It is light and I love the way make up sits on top of it. I never feel greasy or gross, even when I use too much!
Kiss And Gel
Being a lip gloss hoarder, I was happy to see this little guy in the box. A girl can never have enough pink gloss. I was hoping though that this would be more pigmented. Don’t get me wrong, the subtle wash of pink it gives my lips is adorable, but when I saw the hot pink tube I was expecting a little more of a punch. That being said, this does not disappoint in the glow department, it may not seem like it in the picture, but this is probably the shiniest gloss I have ever used!
Do The Tight Thing
I was most excited to get this mask because I have used and loved it before. I got this same size sample a while back and got about 5 good uses out of it! This mask goes on silver and once it dries completely, you get to peel it off, and anyone that says that they don’t love a peel off mask is lying. This leaves my face looking radiant and firm, without drying me out at all. One of these days I will buy the full size, but until then, I will survive off these little sample tubes.
All in all, I was super happy with this month’s products! I got more than my money’s worth, and have found a few new products that I might buy the full size of.
Let me know what your favorites were from this month’s box!
