The Soft Side
This months theme was The Soft Side, so I expected a lot of moisturizing products and subtle make up. It came in a satin pink bag, which ties in with the whole Valentines Month idea. Let’s get into some quick first impressions of each product!
Totally, For Blur
I love Clinique creams, they are simple and effective. This is supposed to not only hydrate, but also smooth the skin for a blurred, soft focus effect. I haven’t used this under make up yet, so I am excited to see if it really does help blur pores and texture.
It’s Da Balm
I adore the packaging on this for some reason! It is tiny and cardboard, but the patter is so adorable. This is meant to be a tinted lip treatment/balm, a lot like the Sugar Lip Treatments. This one is called nude but it has a very pink tone to it. This feels hydrating without being waxy or too slippy. The color doesn’t last very long, but that’s usually the case with tinted balms.
I have a few sample bottles of this perfume from Prada. As the name suggests, it is a sweet, delicate scent. Don’t think though that this is just an expensive Pink Sugar. It is much more sophisticated and balanced. The downside though is this didn’t last very long on my skin.
Full Lips Ahead
As much as I love Too Faced, I have never been a fan of the Lip Injection line. Not only does the plumping ingredient sting the hell out of my lips, it also makes the entire area around my lips red and inflamed. I tried this one on to see if maybe the colored version would be better, but it still gave me the same painful effect. I know all plumping products are a bit painful, but this was just ridiculous. Also the color wasn’t very flattering on me, it is supposed to be a nude but it looks almost yellow. I will be passing this on to someone else.
Lash Out Loud
I actually love this mascara so far! I have worn it over the past two days, and I am really loving how fluffy it makes my lashes look. This mascara is definitely more volumizing than it is lengthening. This lasts all day on my lashes and doesn’t flake or smudge. If this continues to impress me over the next week, I might buy the full size product!
Zing It On
I am usually a huge fan of all things Origins, but there is something odd about this eye cream. The GinZing line has always dried my skin out a bit, so I was hesitant to try this on my already dry under eye area. This reminds me a lot of a luminizing primer, in that it has some shimmer in it. It didn’t do that great of a job truly hydrating my eyes, it just kind of brightened them, if that makes sense. This cream would be perfect for someone that already had hydrated under eyes and was looking to brighten up dark circles.
Let me know what you got in your bag and what your thoughts were!
