Revlon Colorstay Creme Eyeshadow in Black Currant

Revlon Colorstay Creme Eyeshadow

I picked up one of the new cream shadows from Revlon, and I have been playing around with it the past few weeks. The main product that I wanted to compare this to was the Maybelline Color Tattoos, but I really think they are very different. This product is a lot less thick than the Color Tattoos, and they feel more like a shadow and less like a base, if that makes sense. This shadow blended beautifully both with other creams and powder products. There is only one matte shade in the range, the rest are shimmery and metallic like this one. I prefer shimmery cream shadows because they just last the longest on my lids and the matte shades tend to crease on me more.

Black Currant

I chose this purple shade because I wanted to try something other than a bronze/gold shade. This is a very cool toned color, so I like pairing it with grey transition shades. This product is not subtle by any means, I’m sure some of the more muted colors are more wearable for day to day looks, but this shade is for going out. Even patted on lightly, there is a lot of shimmer and pigment, so keep that in mind.

I was surprised at this price, because I feel like a lot of single shadows at the drugstore have been really expensive lately. This is relatively affordable, especially for a cream product. The packaging in sturdy and heavy, and the quality of the product itself make this a steal for me.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these Revlon creams, and what your thoughts were!

Glowingly yours,
