March Sephora Play! Box 2017

The Gleam Team

The theme of this month’s box is glow, which I am 100% about. Going into spring, there’s nothing I love more than warm rose/gold tones for the eyes and face, and there’s a good amount of that in this box. Let’s get into a quick initial review of each product!

Glam Glow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer $49.00

I have heard mixed reviews on this product, so I was happy to get it this month so I could see how I felt about it. It looks like an illuminating primer, kind of like the Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer, but with a lot more glitter. I haven’t tried it on my face yet, so I can’t really speak to how it looks under make up, but I am hesitant because of all the micro glitters.

Has Watt It Takes

Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter $30.00

I actually already have one of these sample Watt’s Up highlighters, and I have a review from a while ago here. This is a great cream product because it dries to a powder finish making it look a lot more natural and blended in. The powder finish also makes it last longer on my skin, this will last all day on me, especially with a setting spray. This is also great for layering under another highlight to really make it stand out.

The Surreal Deal

Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm $36.00

I was kind of annoyed to open this and see that there is barely any product, but I guess for $10 I can’t complain. I was kind of confused about what this product is meant to do, but after reading up I figured out it is meant to be both a moisturizer and a foundation primer. I am skeptical about how well it can perform both jobs, I tend to prefer two products that work perfectly over a two-in-one product that isn’t all that great.

A Gliding Light

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink $30.00

I love eyeshadow sticks, and this is one of the better ones I have tried. This is super creamy and blendable, while also staying pigmented and opaque. This color is perfect because it can be used as an all over the lid color or a face highlight. This doesn’t crease on my lids, even without a primer, and it lasts all day. I will for sure be looking into some of the other shades in this line.

Hair We Go!

Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast $15.00-$29.00

If Living Proof know’s how to do one thing, it’s give volume to all kinds of hair, even mine. I have very long, thick, straight hair that never has volume, so when something like this comes along I get very excited. I spray this on my roots around my face, and I have perfectly tameable volume without needing the blow dryer. This doesn’t leave a white cast on my hair, but it isn’t exactly a dry shampoo so it doesn’t do anything for any oil in my hair. This is more meant as a texture/volume spray.

Fleur The Fun Of It

Chloe Fleur de Parfum $28.00-$132.00

I will always find it hard to get excited about these little perfume samples, but here I will try my best. This is your run of the mill floral scent, very nice but nothing too exciting.

All in all this month’s box was great! I am already loving the Living Proof spray and the Bobbi Brown shadow, and I will be trying out everything over the next few weeks. Let me know what you loved/disliked in your box this month!

Glowingly yours,

Jess

It really is a great deal if you are constantly looking to try new things like I am! Sephora is so expensive, so being able to try out a $80 skincare product for only 10 bucks is my kind of deal!
