Creepy Cute

In all honesty I have no idea why this box is called Creepy Cute, but whatever! I was very excited for this month’s box after seeing Kathleen Light’s video all about this month’s products. I was looking forward to the pressed pigments and lip liner/liquid lipstick combination. Let’s get into a quick initial review of each product!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer $16.00

“This primer is the first product that was ever created at Smashbox photo studies L.A. It instantly blurs fine lines and pores, leaving skin with a velvety-smooth, even finish. This classic Smashbox primer is the best way to start your make up every day.”

Surprisingly, I have never tried this cult classic primer. I have and love the Lite version, but have never tried the original because I was always scared it would be too heavy for my skin. This is an oil free, but very silicone heavy formula, which can either smooth my skin perfectly or pill up and feel heavy under foundation. I like the way this feels on the back of my hand, and I have only worn it once on my face, but so far I am loving it. It doesn’t do much for my oiliness, but it blurs my pores and my foundation sits evenly on top.

Crown Brush Deluxe Fan Brush $18.99

“This Fan Brush features a large, fanned brush head perfect for the soft application of powder products. This brush is also great for lightly dusting shimmer products onto skin.”

I actually already own this brush! I bought it on sale a long time ago on Hautelook, and it has been a part of my regular routine for a while now. While it is too big to highlight with, it is perfect for subtly contouring. I like using it with my Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer on the hollows of my cheeks and around the edges of my forehead. It is incredibly soft, and it never sheds on me.

Naked Cosmetics Urban Rustic Palette $39.99

“These colors offer a dramatic look when applied damp or with an eye base. The colors have hints of green, bronze, purple, and brown.”

I was most excited for this palette, because I used to be a big fan of this company’s pigments. These shadows are pressed pigments, which means lots of pigmentation, but also lots of fallout. There are three colors; a an olive green, a burnished copper, and purple/cranberry. My favorite is definitely the green, I am a sucker for olive shadows. These three colors aren’t really great for use on their own, but they are great when paired with mattes from another palette. These last all day on my eyes and apply extremely opaque and metallic. The only downside to these shadows is the fallout, so be sure to do your eye make up before face make up when you use these.

RealHer Matte Liquid Lipstick in I Deserve The Best $15.00

“Lightweight formula glides onto lips leaving super intense color with a bold, ultra-matte finish. Long wearing, and completely kiss proof, this bomb formulation helps to combat dryness and nourish your lips during wear.”

I love everything about this liquid lipstick! The color I got is a beautiful mauve/pinky nude, it is really flattering on my skin tone, and probably many others. It applies opaque in one swipe, and dries quickly. The packaging is different but I think it looks pretty cool. I like that is has the name of the shade on the side in big letters. I haven’t worn this for longer than like 20 minutes so I can’t really speak to it’s longevity, but it felt very comfortable on my lips.

RealHer Lip Liner in I Am Precious $12.50

“A creamy lip liner that glides across lips to define your pout.”

This lip liner was chosen to match the liquid lipstick shade, and it does so perfectly. The formula reminds me a lot of the Colourpop liners and the MAC Pro Longwear liners. It is very creamy and pigmented, it doesn’t tug at my lips at all.

Here is a picture of the lip liner and the lipstick worn together:

All in all, this box was one of the best I have received so far! All of the products are great, and I cannot wait to try each one out. Let me know what you loved in the box this month!

Glowingly yours,

Jess
