Step It Up
The theme of this month’s box took me a minute to understand, but once I read the full insert, it made much more sense. The foldout detailed the different steps in a make up routine, and included lots of helpful little tricks. Let’s get into a quick review of each sample product!
Make The Moisture Of It
Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream $52.00
Peter Thomas Roth skincare is very luxurious, so getting a good size amount of it for cheap is always great. I am a lover of all things hyaluronic acid, and this is no exception. This acid always does a great job of both calming and hydrating my skin, without feeling greasy or heavy. This is going to be perfect for the summer, when my skin can get chapped and sun burnt easily.
Cleanse With Benefits
Philosophy Made Simple Face Cleanser $11.00-$55.00
I already own and love this popular face cleanser, so getting a nice little travel bottle is perfect! I love using this cleanser when I want a very basic, gentle face wash. Because it is scented I don’t like to use it to remove my eye make up, but it removes face make up wonderfully.
The Prime Is Now
Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer $16.00-$49.00
While this is a great product, I just recently received another sample of it in a Boxy Charm. I will probably pass this along to one of my sisters so they can try it too. This is a very popular foundation primer. It is a classic silicone-y base that gives make up a smooth canvas. I like to use this around my nose, but not on my forehead because it doesn’t do much to control shine. This can feel a little heavy, so I only like to use a small amount.
The Liner Things In Life
Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner in M-10 $21.00
I have gone through a few samples of these gel liners from MUFE, so getting another one is always welcome. This lasts a very long time on my skin, I always need an oil based remover to get it off. It has a very creamy texture, so no tugging or skipping at my lash line, and it is also perfect for smudging.
Erase To The Finish
Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover $7.50-$15.00
I am excited to try this remover out, especially on my eyes. I like using cleansers to remove my face make up, but prefer bio-oils like this for my eyes. I try not to rub my eyes as much as possible to prevent wrinkles, so I need heavy duty remover to melt it away. Hopefully this doesn’t burn my eyes like some products tend to do. I will update on how well this works soon!
Out Of The Bleue
Miu Miu L’Eau Bleue $28.00-$118.00
Notes: Lily of the Valley, Wild Rose, Akigalawood.
Another perfume sample to add to my massive collection. This smells very floral but also has some deepness too it. I haven’t worn it out yet, so I cannot really speak to how long it lasts on the skin. Let me know if you’ve worn this scent and what your thoughts were.
All in all, a pretty good box. I have a lot of products to try over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for any of these in coming monthly favorites posts.
Glowingly yours,
Jess

The cleanser is great! Very gentle! If you want to try out a small bottle, they usually have very little travel sizes for sale at Ulta!
