This is a new series I’ve been working on, so please let me know how you like it in the comments! I love watching one brand tutorials on YouTube, so I thought I would do my own version of it. I am starting with my favorite drugstore brand Wet n Wild, but I will probably do some mid to high end brands also. Some of these products I have tried, some I have not, so I won’t be giving reviews so much as a description of each product and why I chose it. Let’s get started!
Primer
Cover All Face Primer $4.99
I tried this primer out a long while ago, but I think I lost it in a move. I really want them to release a primer with the amazing Photo Focus line, but as of now this is the only foundation primer they offer. If I am remembering correctly, this is a pretty basic product, not pore filling or mattifying but my make up sat well on top of it.
Foundation
Photo Focus Foundation $5.99
I absolutely love this foundation, I recently did a review on it here! Basically, this is a great medium coverage foundation that lasts a very long time on the skin. It doesn’t look greasy, and it doesn’t cling to dry patches. People with all different skin types seem to love it!
Powder
Photo Focus Pressed Powder $4.99
I have a few shades of this powder (light for my face and the darkest shade for a bronzer) and I love it just as much as the liquid foundation. It is baked, so it looks super natural on the skin, and it blurs my pores and little imperfections. I love using this under my eyes because it never looks dry or caked on.
Concealer
Photo Focus Concealer $3.99
I just recently picked this concealer up, and I am already really liking it. It is very creamy and easy to blend, and has a good amount of coverage. It lasts all day under my eyes, and a good few hours on my blemishes.
Blush
Color Icon Blush $2.99
These blushes are crazy pigmented and very long lasting. Most of the shades are shimmery, so you can forgo a highlight and just dust this on the apples of your cheeks. I highly suggest the shade Apri-cot in the Middle, it is a lovely pinky nude color perfect for day to day wear!
Bronzer
Color Icon Bronzer SPF 15 $3.99
Despite the bulky, terrible packaging, this bronzer is really great! It is very finely milled so it applies smoothly and never patchy. The lightest shade from this range can also be used a very subtle highlight or full face powder.
Highlighter
Mega Glo Highlighting Powder $4.99
I have loved these highlights since they came out a year or so ago, and I am so happy Wet n Wild made them permanent. These are extremely pigmented and metallic, so use a very light hand if you don’t want an intense glow!
Eye Primer
Photo Focus Eye Shadow Primer $4.99
I have never tried this primer, but if it is anything like their discontinued Fergie lid primer, I’m sure it’s great. If you aren’t a fan of it, you can also use the Photo Focus Concealer on the lid as a primer like I sometimes do!
Eye Brow
Ultimate Brow Mascara $4.99
I have been wanting to try this out ever since I saw it come out. I love brow mascaras, and am always down to try a new one out. If any of you have used this, please let me know!
Eye Liner
Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner $2.99
I have a few different shades of this liquid liner, and every color works beautifully! I am terrible at liquid liner, but this one is pretty easy to use. It dries quickly and doesn’t flake off throughout the day.
Eye Shadow
Color Icon Eye Shadow Collection $4.99
Probably my favorite products from Wet n Wild have to be their eye shadows. They are the best shadows from the drugstore, and the cheapest! These 8 pan palettes are the best because you get a whole bunch of stunning, buttery shades for less than 5 bucks. I am always hoping they will release new color schemes for this range!
Mascara
Mega Slim Skinny Mascara $4.99
I have never tried a mascara from this brand, but this one seems like the most popular. I love using mascara with a wand like this for my lower lashes, the thinness helps me coat the small lashes without smudging everywhere.
Lipstick
Mega Last Lip Color $2.49
These lipsticks are cheap, pigmented, and come in a whole slew of different colors. Some of the darker shades can be a bit patchy, but they can be built up easily to be opaque. They last forever on the lips, and don’t need a lip liner. The only downside? The plastic caps that always nick the lipstick.
Lipgloss
Color Icon Lip Gloss $0.99
These glosses come in very cool colors, and don’t apply too thick or sticky. For less than a dollar, they are easy to collect and throw in your purse for daily touch ups.
Let me know your favorite Wet n Wild products!
Glowingly yours,
Jess
