I was browsing my favorite area of Sephora.com, the new arrivals, and I saw these two new skin care sticks from Milk Makeup. I am a lover of all things different when it comes to beauty, and Milk Makeup is always releasing something new and bizarre.
My favorite way to wake up in the morning is with a big cup of water with matcha powder mixed in, so I knew I needed to grab these as soon as I read their names! While a stick cleanser is something that has been done by a few other brands, and solid stick toner is pretty unique!
I have been using these for the past week, and I am already loving them. The stick form makes them super easy to apply, and I never accidentally squeeze out too much and waste product. I am interested to see how many uses I can get out of each stick, and how well the product stays good.
“A sulfate-free and soap-free, matcha cleanser stick that purifies, exfoliates, and targets redness.”
I apply this to my damp face, a few swipes on my cheeks and forehead, then I massage it in with my hands. It doesn’t foam up much, which is nice because overly foaming cleansers are pretty drying on my skin. There is a slight grittiness to the formula, so I can feel it lightly sloughing off any dead skin. This removes face make up easily, and it calms the redness I can get after waking up.
“A solid toner, made with matcha for purified pores and smooth, hydrated skin.”
Of the two sticks, this one is my favorite for sure! The color is so amazing, and it really shrinks my pores. I swipe a bit of this on my cheeks and rub it in right after cleansing my face, and it leaves my skin feeling calmed and hydrated. It doesn’t feel like a classic liquid toner, but it does exactly what toners are supposed to do. If you have drier skin and toners dry you out, give this stick a try.
All in all, these matcha infused products are really interesting, and functional! I cannot wait to add to my Milk Makeup collection, because this brand just keeps impressing me.
