With the life saving trend of dry shampoo comes the little talked about downside: gross buildup between shampoos. Enter the scalp scrub. After falling in love with a few different ones, I thought I would bring that joy to you all! Here is a little beginner’s guide to some of the best scalp scrubs on the market, so you can find the right one for you. Let’s get started!
The Classic Scrub
This is the scrub that saved my hair, and had me chasing down less expensive options. I have light dandruff when I go more than two days without shampooing, and this has completely put a stop to that. Yes, it is pricey, but I promise it is worth the splurge.
The Nourishing Scrub
Do your roots get greasy but your ends stay dry? Then this is the scrub for you! With charcoal for the oil and coconut oil for the parched strands, this is a great mix between a build up remover and a hair mask.
The Facial Scrub
While the packaging may seem a bit on the nose, this brand has always been a go to for healthy hair. The Caviar line promises to strengthen hair from root to tip, and this exfoliating scrub is no different. The dish scrubber applicator really helps lift and remove build up and flakes.
The Drugstore Scrub
I am currently in Alabama living out of a suitcase in a hotel with John, and this has been my moving day savior. Lots of sweat and crappy motel shampoo has only been remedied by this last minute drugstore purchase. This is one of the most refreshing scrubs I’ve ever used, and it takes squeaky clean to a whole new level.
The Detox Scrub
Looking for a more natural option? Try this scalp detox scrub from Grow Gorgeous. Chock full of plant based ingredients and caster oil beads, this is perfect for dry hair in need of some organic TLC.
The Sugar Scrub
This scrub is meant for dull, dry hair in need of some shine. This scrub uses sugar, so if salt dries out your hair (like it can do if you have very fine or color treated locks), give this relatively less expensive product a try. This claims to remove build up while also adding moisture!
