As if they knew I was a week away from touching down in the UK, Into The Gloss published a piece all about an amazing multi-purpose cream that could be picked up at your nearest Boots for less than 4 bucks. As much as I love expensive, luxury products, I will always love cheap but effective secrets.
Visually, there is very little to find appealing about the hospital-esque grey tub and matter-of-fact lettering. Trust me though, the beauty is all in the results! Filled with zinc oxide, lanolin and benzyl alcohol, this bright white salve is the be-all end-all post break out product. Packed with antiseptic ingredients, this is perfect for applying on top of that pimple you just couldn’t help but pop. But what else can you use it for? Cuts, burns, eczema, razor burn, and it’s original use, diaper cream!
“Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream has been mum’s simple, effective ally for over 85 years and is great for soothing sore skin and treating nappy rash and has been proven to heal nappy rash rapidly. Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream is versatile enough to be used by the whole family for all of life’s little dramas and can help with so much more than just treating babies’ bottoms!” (Taken from the official product website).
My favorite uses? I mix a tiny bit of this in with my night time moisturizer and cover my whole face. Keep in mind that this has a very opaque white cast, so I don’t suggest slathering up and heading into the outside world. I also love using this as a spot treatment at the end of the day after I remove my make up. It soothes any itchy skin flare ups, and it is the only thing I have found that saves me from my biggest skin battle: razor burn. No matter what I do, I have always had terrible keratosis pilaris and razor burn on my legs, and it makes the spring and summer months a night mare. Now though, if I mix just a tiny bit of Sudocrem in with my body butter, my legs are smooth and free of unsightly red bumps!
So yes, I may have filled any extra room in my suitcase with different sized grey tubs, but for good reason! If you live in the UK, let me know I’m not crazy, and tell me how much you love this stuff too!
