A few days ago, Colourpop announced that their products would soon be available at Sephora stores. This will be the first time Colourpop has sold any of their products in an actual physical location, as the brand has previously been available exclusively online. While many people jumped for joy, there were a lot who questioned just how this was possible. Colourpop products range from $4-$12, and Sephora has never sold a brand so cheap before. Most people are just wondering how the hell Sephora can expect to profit from selling CP, and if anything like price or quality will change.
While we all sit and wait for our questions to be answered and the new displays at Sephora to be filled, I thought I would talk about some of my favorite products from Colourpop, and what I recommend you pick up if you do see them in stores!
What To Buy
These were the first products that Colourpop released, and the thing that really piqued my interest in the brand. Pictures of these odd cream/powder hybrid shadows starting popping up everywhere, and the swatches were looking so pigmented and beautiful. I placed an order and fell in love with the bizarre texture. After the shadows became popular, suddenly the brand kicked it into high gear and started adding new products all the time!
Wattles, Weenie, Kathleenlights, Snapdragon, Midnight, Koosh
Recently they released the classic single powder shadow pan in a variety of beautiful colors. I find their mattes to be so creamy and pigmented, and very easy to blend. I don’t have as much experience with the metallic or shimmer shades, but all the swatches and reviews I’ve seen have been good.
Paper Tiger, Wake Up Call, Note To Self
These pencils were released alongside matching pot gel liners, and while I’m not crazy about the pots, I absolutely love the gel pencils! Available in so many colors, these are crazy pigmented and last forever in my waterline. These are very creamy and don’t tug or skip at all, and they stay vibrant all day.
Honey Dude, Mr. Bing, Prance, Cry Baby, Overboard
These are for sure my favorite product from Colourpop! While the beauty world was being flooded with matte liquid lipsticks, these came onto the scene and filled the needs of dry-lipped girls everywhere. Though these apply like a thin liquid lipstick, they never fully dry down matte, giving a classic lipstick look with a longer wear time. This line has so many different colors, so finding your perfect shade is a breeze.
Aquarius, Magic Wand, Calypso, November, Alyssa
Like the Super Shock Shadows, the Lippie Stix were released early and drew many people in with their wide color range and beautiful pigmentation. I love the Creme and Matte finishes, because they are very hydrating and never sink into the lines on my lips. These are perfect for throwing into your purse and heading out the door.
Lumiere, Brink, Aquarius, Taurus
And finally, I suggest you check out the hybrid highlights available as well! These apply like a cream or liquid highlight, so they are perfect for those with normal to dry skin. I love dabbing these onto the tops of my cheekbones in the spring and summer to add an intense wet glow. These can also be used under powder highlights to intensify and keep the highlight vibrant all day.
Wisp, Lunch Money, Might Be
