With Fall and Winter approaching fast, it is important to prepare your skin for the temperature changes, and the best way to do that is to incorporate lots of hydration and moisture into your routine. My skin gets oily fast, so I am usually one to stay far away from overly dewy products, but when the wind picks up and the air dries out, I need to replenish my skin! Here are four products that can help create a smooth, plump base for applying make up in the drier months.
The first step is obviously a nourishing moisturizer like this one from Fresh. I prefer a thicker cream when my skin is feeling congested and flakey, and this fits the bill. Full of vitamins and natural ingredients, this face cream is perfect for lots of skin types, from oily like me to the driest and most sensitive. I like to apply a thin layer right out of the shower, and then a second layer right before I begin applying my make up to make sure all that moisture is locked in.
Primers are a great place to get some hydration, and this radiant one from MUFE is both glowy and moisturizing without feeling thick and heavy. The blue shade is perfect for fair and light skin tones like mine, but the line also offers other radiant shades for deeper skin tones. Give the primer a minute or so to sink in before going in with our next product.
While I love the look foundation gives me, I tend to choose a tinted moisturizer in day to day looks during fall and winter. This one from No. 7 gives both great coverage and the nourishment skin needs. I like applying this with a damp beauty blender because it gives the most natural, glowy finish. If you are afraid of looking shiny or oily, just pat a bit of powder on your trouble spots.
Once all your make up is applied you may look and feel luminous, but after a few hours that can all change. I know my make up and skin can begin to feel drier and drier as the day goes on, so I always like to have a facial spray with me for touch ups. This luxurious spray from Tatcha makes your skin feel like it just drank a giant glass of water. Never greasy or overly wet, this spray is perfect for make up pick-me-ups throughout the day.
Let me know your dry skin must haves!
