Summer Favorites

So I have been really bad about making favorites posts this summer, so I thought I would put together a post of all the products I have been loving the past few months! I have quite a few products so settle in and let’s get started!

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel $52.00

You will begin to notice a pattern of serious lightweight hydration in my favorites, and this moisturizing gel has been my go to day to day face product. This gel is very thin, but it packs a seriously hydrating punch. I just need one small pump to keep my skin plump and smooth all day long. This stuff is perfect for my oily skin, it never makes me look greasy or shiny!

Elf Prep & Hydrate Balm $8.00

When I’ve needed a little extra moisture, I have been reaching for this extremely affordable balm stick from Elf. This product is extremely cooling and soothing for the skin, perfect after a long day in the sun! This is one of the only items like this that I’ve tried that actually keeps my skin moisturized for longer than a few minutes. I use this on my cheeks if they are looking a bit red, and underneath my eyes to soothe any puffiness or dark circles I may wake up with.

Elf Beauty Shield SPF 50 Skin Shielding Moisturizer $12.00

Another Elf product I have been loving is this new moisturizer from the Beauty Shield line. This has a very subtle tint so I like to wear it on days when I am not feeling foundation. The coverage is very light and sheer, but it evens everything out and makes me look a bit more put together. The best part about this product though is the SPF! Rarely do you get affordable skincare with SPF 50 in it, and this moisturizer does it perfectly. No white cast or flashback, and it never feels greasy or too heavy.

Milk Makeup Matcha Toner Stick $26.00

I have a difficult relationship with most toners, they tend to dry out my sensitive skin easily. Enter this little stick from Milk. It clears my skin while the matcha soothes any redness or breakouts I may be having. The texture is very smooth and cooling, making it perfect for hot summer days. If I am using a particularly strong cleanser, this balances my skin out if it is feeling stripped. Here is a more in depth review of this product and it’s matching stick cleanser!

Glossier Wowder in Light/Medium $22.00

This has been all over peoples favorites videos, and for good reason. This new powder from Glossier has been my go-to when I am feeling shiny (AKA always) because it keeps me matte without looking caked on or overdone. The packaging is perfect and never messy like all my other loose powders, and the slight tint gives me coverage where I need it. Here is my original post dedicated just to this little beauty.

Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel in Natural $14.00

After spending some time in London, I fell absolutely in love with the Pixi brand. My favorite product I bought is definitely this cheek gel! I love cream and liquid blushes in the summer, and this has been the easiest and most natural looking gel to apply. I just add a few dabs to each cheek and I look flushed and rosy all day long. The shade is very flattering and subtle, and the formula lasts forever on my skin. Here you can find some swatches of this blush and here is a post all about the best way to apply it!

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette $54.00

I haven’t been wearing much eyeshadow the past few months, but when I have I have always reached for this palette from Urban Decay. Full of every matte shade you could ever need, I think this is such an underrated product! I was never a huge fan of the Naked palettes because I don’t like the glitter formula from UD, but their mattes are perfection! I love dusting two or three of these shades in my crease and outer corner to add some depth to my eyes without needing to put together a whole eye look.

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara in Blackest Black $9.99

I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about this mascara, but I would be lying if I said I haven’t been wearing it every day. It really adds length and volume to my short straight lashes, and it never flakes off or smudges underneath my eyes. It holds a nice curl for hours and the brush makes application a breeze. Here is my original post on this product!

Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Lip Color in Heroine $9.49

This summer I have been wearing either just chapstick or this bright bold lip. While the formula on this liquid lipstick isn’t my absolute favorite, the color is so stunning I can’t stop wearing it! This never dries down to a full matte, but I kind of like it because it doesn’t dry my lips out. I have loved wearing this paired with just a bit of bronzer and some mascara!

Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant in Pure Vanilla $14.00

I have never been loyal to one deodorant, but this natural one from Lavanila has been my go to on days when I am just relaxing. It isn’t strong enough to wear when working out or anything, but it smells amazing and keeps me from sweating. If you are strictly a natural skin and body product person, give this vanilla number a try!

Kristin Ess Working Texture Loose Styling Powder $10.00

The Kristin Ess line at Target is hands down my new favorite hair care line. I have a whole bunch of products and I will be doing a big post all about them soon, but I needed to mention this hair powder because it has been my savior on days when my hair looks dull and greasy. Just a tiny bit of this powder in my roots sucks up any oil and never leaves a white cast. This is a great affordable alternative to the Bumble & Bumble Pret A Powder.

KL Polish Magic City Nail Polish $8.50

And last but not least, the only color that has been on my nails all summer! I love bright orange reds when I have a bit of a tan, and this polish from Kathleen Light’s KL Polish summer collection is the perfect shade! I love everything about this product, from the easy to use formula to the long lasting, opaque formula. I have been loving the entire summer line, but this color has been my go-to. Here is my original post about the collection with some nail swatches!

Let me know what you have been loving this summer!

Glowingly yours,

Jess
