Allure Beauty Box September 2017

I love beauty boxes, and I am always ready to try out a new one! While I don’t see anything ever topping my Boxycharm, I did want to try out this box from Allure. I have always loved reading the magazine, and it is really the only one I trust for good make up advice. This month’s box featured items from the Allure Best of Beauty list that they release every year, so I was for sure going to get at least one great product. Unlike Boxycharm, most of this box is usually made up of deluxe sample sizes, so I find the $15 price tag appropriate. Let”s get into a quick initial review of each item in September’s box!

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Dazzled $29.00

I was so amazed to see this full sized blush from Tarte in the box! These Amazonian Clay blushes are without a doubt the longest lasting blushes I have every tried. This shade Dazzled is a lovely deep rose color, with a hint of glitter throughout. When applied though the glitter falls away and doesn’t look chunky or over done. Extremely pigmented and blendable, this blush is perfect for an intense flush that lasts all day!

Beauty Blender Micro Mini $18.00

I have actually used these mini sponges before, and I prefer to use them to apply things like cream shadow or precise liquid highlight. I find them just too small to use for foundation or concealer, but the fit perfectly in the contours of the eyes and the very top of the cheekbones. If you are wanting a sponge that is smaller than the classic Beauty Blender but don’t want to go this tiny, I suggest trying out the Beauty Blusher!

Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast $29.00

I received this in a previous subscription service box, but I am happy to get it again as I am almost out! This stuff is amazing on my long, heavy hair. I usually can only get volume in my hair if I blow dry it right out of the shower, which means washing my hair daily, which I try to avoid. With this spray I can add texture and volume to my dry hair in seconds. I like to spray my roots, brush it out and actually give it a quick once over with my blow dryer. When I do this, I find my hair looks bouncy and fresh all day long.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Cream $37.00

Another product I have already tried and loved is this eye cream from Kiehl’s. This is one of my favorite brands, and I am so happy that they are now available at Sephora! I am just about to run out of my first tube of this, so this box came at the perfect time. I have hereditary dark circles, and there is very little that I can do about them besides pile on the concealer. This eye cream is one of the only products that have ever made a noticeable difference on the puffiness and purple shadows, even after only night.

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream $60.00

Though the full sized blush is exciting, this cream is for sure my favorite item in the box. Drunk Elephant is an amazing brand, but the price tag has always kept me far away. This moisturizer has been sitting in my online cart for months, so getting a good sample to try out is perfect! Now I can see how much I like this before spending 60 bucks on a face cream.

All in all, I am looking forward to more boxes from Allure. If you’ve tried any of these products, let me know!

Glowingly yours,
