Truffle (light brown with pink undertones)
Cork (warm golden brown)
A few days ago, I saw a post on my phone saying that these popular liquid lipsticks from Dose of Colors were half off on Ulta, and I just couldn’t believe it. I have been wanting to try this formula out forever, but could never stomach the price without getting to swatch and test it. A lot of the colors were sold out, but the two I have been dying to get my hands on were still in stock, so I quickly bought them. Luckily so, because when I checked back only an hour later almost every shade was gone.
Truffle has always been my dream color, and in person it is even better. It is the perfect pinky nude, with a very neutral balance of pink and brown. While the color Stone has always been their most popular shade, I have always thought it had just a tiny bit too much mauve/purple in it. Truffle is my ideal day to day matte lip, and I cannot think of an eye look that it wouldn’t compliment.
I also picked up Cork because lately I have been loving warm browns, and I feel that I will be wearing them all throughout the cold weather months. Paired with a bronze/gold eye look with some red and orange in the crease, Cork just screams fall.
As far as the formula goes, I finally understand why people are always talking about these lipsticks. I am not normally one to love a very watery thin consistency, but these are the exception. Once these dry down, they last all day on me, and never crack or flake off. When they do begin to fade they don’t look like a crumbly mess, but instead leave behind a subtle stain. The frosted glass packaging is stunning and I cannot wait to add more of these to my collection. After falling in love with these, I will for sure be willing to pay full price for the next few shades I want!
