Sorry for the sparsity with my posts lately! I’m back now I promise. I just received my Boxycharm in the mail, and I am already loving some of the products. Let’s get into a quick initial review of each item!
Dr. Brandt skin care is high end and pricy, so getting it for only $21 is pretty impressive. The brand is known for their microdermabrasion products and at home exfoliators, so I cannot wait to try this pore perfecting formula out. I have large pores around my nose, so I am interested to see if this does anything to help those. I am a little timid though because some exfoliators can irritate my skin, so I will patch test this out tonight and see how it goes.
So people either got the pressed or liquid version of Prosecco Pop, and it was the main selling point of this month’s box. I was actually hoping to get the liquid because I’ve never tried any liquid highlights from Becca, but I still am so happy to have this full sized beauty! I actually have a pan of Prosecco Pop in my Jaclyn Hill Face Palette, but I don’t like using that palette because it was limited edition and it’s just so beautiful.
This highlight is a stunning light warm gold (think Champagne Pop but a bit lighter) and it is perfect for most skin tones. The formula of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors has always been one of my favorites, they last forever on the skin and you can have them look natural or build them up for a super intense sheen.
I have been wanting to try these Matte Lip Paints from Tarte for a while now, so I was so happy to see it in the box! I got the shade Get It, which is a lovely nude with serious red/warm undertones. The consistency is very thin and watery, similar to the Lime Crime lipsticks or the Colourpop Ultra Mattes, but this one is not nearly as drying as those. I swatched it on my hand and had to struggle for a good 5 minutes to scrub it off with an oil based remover, so I think it’s safe to say this lipstick will be long lasting.
When it comes to cream shadows, I usually prefer a pot formula, but this chubby stick surprised me. It is very creamy and blendable. It isn’t super pigmented, making it perfect for a simple wash of shimmer on the lids. This color Illusion reminds me a lot of Make Up Geek’s Cosmopolitan or MAC’s Expensive Pink. I will have to try this out more to see how long it lasts on the lids, so I will keep you updated.
And the final item in this month’s box was this little lip liner from a brand I have never heard of! I got mine in the shade Spice, and it is the perfect color for wearing alone or using to slightly over line the lips. It is a wooden pencil so it isn’t very creamy or moisturizing, but the color goes on opaque and lip liners always last forever on my lips. The only downside? It doesn’t match the Tarte lipstick I also got in the box!
All in all, this month’s box was worth $135.00 and I was impressed with every single product! Let me know what you got in your box this month, and what your thoughts were!
