As I have started a grown up job, I am beginning to appreciate concealer more and more. Even when I have no time to do my makeup, I can just throw on some concealer and run out the door looking somewhat put together. While I prefer a pretty thin consistency for underneath my eyes, I need something pigmented and thick to cover up any blemishes. Enter the pot concealer.
Perfect for spot covering and on the go touch ups, I have a select few that I use religiously. Let’s get into a review of my four favorite jars!
While this may be the newest addition to the collection, it is by far my favorite. After falling in love with the original NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, I had my doubts about this product. Usually when a concealer claims to be matte, it really just dries me out and looks cakey after just one layer. When I did get this in the mail, I was so surprised by how much I loved the finish. This product is so pigmented you really only need a tiny dot to cover a large area, making it worth the money you spend. And yes, while it does have a matte finish, the word ‘soft’ in the name couldn’t be more true. It never looks dry or unnatural on my skin, no matter the foundation or primer I use underneath.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to include this as I don’t use it for blemishes so much as correcting under my eyes. I decided t talk about it though because it really is such a standout product for people with dark circles like me. While yes this is way too expensive for such little product, it truly works. I rarely use under eye correctors because layering too many products just makes my eyes look older and more tired. This, while thick, never creases or falls into the lines under my eyes, making me look awake and ready for the day!

This pot concealer is one the most versatile products I own. It has the creamiest consistency I have ever seen in a pot concealer, and because of that I can use it pretty much anywhere on my face. Perfect for under the eyes, as a lid primer, and on the occasional redness. A word of advice though, you are definitely going to want to set this with a powder, because the blendable formula will crease.

And last but not least, the drugstore option! Catrice makes some of my favorite concealers, and this little tub is no exception. This product truly lives up to its name, there is no blemish it cannot cover. I love using this on very red, inflamed spots (think cystic acne or hives) because it really does stay put all damn day, especially when set with a powder. I do wish Catrice would expand the shade range though so everyone could enjoy this ridiculously cheap miracle.
