Skincare, makeup, nails, and now scents? Glossier continues to spread and flourish in all corners of the beauty market, and I am all for it! This fragrance has been teased for so long, I was so excited to finally get my hands on it a few weeks ago. It promised to be unlike any other perfume I had ever worn, and it did not disappoint.
“You’ll find that You makes a good first impression, and lives up to it as time goes on. Each note was chosen and balanced to allow the juice to be both long-lasting and true to how it smells at the beginning, without changing as it dries down. In other words, it’s heavy on the base notes. Mostly it smells like you: that familiar human-y note that makes up the body of what you’re smelling. Creamy, sparkling, clean, warm. That’s You.”
As soon as I opened the box I was in love with everything about this product. The packaging is sleek and modern, with that classic Glossier pink fading into a clear bottom so you always know just how much product you have left. You get a substantial 1.7 oz without the bottle looking or feeling bulky or ridiculous.
Now let’s talk about the most important part: the scent itself! I have never been great at describing perfumes, and this one has me truly stumped, which is why I included the notes and description from the Glossier website. All I can really say is that the name ‘You’ is perfect, because it truly does feel like what I am supposed to be smelling like. It melts in perfectly with whatever other scents I have on (think dry shampoo and whatever laundry detergent I have in the house) and doesn’t shift or change throughout the day. All of the notes stand strong together, and after a few hours none of the lighter notes have faded away, which has always been a big turn off for me about a perfume.
While I have other scents that have a few of these notes, I have never smelled anything like this perfume. It has such a comfortable feel, and never feels overpowering or underwhelming. I cannot recommend this perfume enough, especially for people who are still looking for their signature scent and just cannot seem to find the right balance of clean and woody. If $60 is too much to spend on something you haven’t smelled yet, Glossier is including a small sample size in most online purchases, so restock on your Balm Dot Com and try this out!
Top Notes: Iris Root, Pink Pepper
