While the summer months are for orange and pink lips, the winter months are when I really lean on my dark berry and crimson tones. A bold lip is the perfect thing dress up any bundled up outfit, and this little set is my new go-to. Around the holidays, Sephora always comes out with these specifically curated boxes and sets, and this one is filled with deep, eye catching tones. Let’s get into some swatches!
One of the two full sized products included in this set, this peach infused matte lipstick is so adorable! I love everything about this product, from the luxurious packaging to the fresh, vibrant pigmentation and color. This pairs beautifully with big fluffy lashes and a matching berry blush.
NUDESTIX is a brand that has always interested me, and I feel like it isn’t on enough people’s radar. This lip pencil reminds me a lot of the beloved NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, but a bit more pigmented! Something about this color is so unique to me, the almost purple/brown undertone of this red makes it perfect for cold nights out. I love using these kinds of pencils dabbed on my lips as well for a more subtle, blotted look.
This is the color in the set that intimidates me the most by far, but I am so in love with the vibrancy of the shade that I just have to wear it! The Everlasting Liquid Lipstick formula is one of the longest lasting on the market right now, so no need to worry about smudging or fading. This is the kind of color that needs to be the center of attention, so pair it with mascara and little else.
The Amuse Bouche line from Bite Beauty is my current favorite formula, and their shade range is rivaled by few. This shade Licorice is a stunning deep oxblood red, very sophisticated and mature. A vampy red and some black eyeliner are a perfect date night combo in the snow!
This year has been all about the brown lip, from light brown sugar nudes to deep chocolate shades like this one from Tarte. The formula of these Lip Paints is very watery and thin, so they last forever on my lips. I suggest wearing a lip liner and some chapstick underneath though, because they can be fairly drying.
And what is a bold lip set without a vibrant red? This liquid lipstick from Bare Minerals has a moussey consistency, so it feels comfortable on the lips all day. This color has just a touch of watermelon pink to really catch eyes and stand out!
Let me know your go-to bold lip shade!
