And the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year is….. Ultra Violet!
“Inventive and imaginative, Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come”
I love drawing inspiration from Pantone’s yearly choice, and this is one of my favorite colors so far! Usually we can expect a few upcoming Ultra Violet inspired collections, but until then here are some purple products to help you wait!
This radiance mask from Tatcha was the first thing I thought of when I saw this year’s color. Purple face products tend to have a vibrant effect on tired skin, and this mask is no exception. Containing AHAs and Vitamin C, this mask will gently exfoliate and brighten up your complexion.
Another vibrancy boosting purple product, this super popular face primer from Becca is perfect for the winter months. I love using this primer when my face is looking dull and sallow, it gives me just the boost I need without making me look oily or greasy.
Inglot is a brand built on insane color selections, and their gel liner line has a few stunning purple’s to choose from. This blue based cool toned beauty is perfect for a interesting take on the classic black winged liner.
I have green eyes, so purple liner is my secret weapon when I really want to make them stand out. Smudge a tiny bit of this on your lower lash line for a fun pop of color.
If purple liner is a little too much for you, try incorporating some plum mascara into a neutral look. You can even put black mascara on your upper lashes and just a touch of this on the lower lashes for a hint of purple in your everyday look.
While shimmering purple is beautiful, I for one love a matte purple eye look, and this grape shade from Morphe is a perfect purple centerpiece. Pat this all over the lid for a daring ultra violet eye look.
If you prefer a cream shadow or shimmery purple look, try this shadow stick from Julep. With products like this, I prefer to apply it directly to my lid and then blend using either my finger or a synthetic fiber brush.
If purple eyes just aren’t your thing, try adding a bold violet lip to your look! These liquid lipsticks from Kat Von D are insanely long lasting, so you don’t have to worry about and smudging or cracking.
If 20 bucks a bit too steep to pay for such a crazy lip color, try out this cheaper alternative from the drug store! These lipsticks from NYX are super comfortable on the lips and long lasting as well.
I have a few shades from the Loaded Bold’s line from Maybelline, and I will most likely be adding this purple to my collection soon! If you hate the way liquid lipsticks make your lips feel, try out this classic bullet formula with a perfect drugstore price tag!
