If there is one thing in the make up world you can count on, it’s that whenever there is a break out, popular product, MUR will soon attempt an affordable dupe. While they usually just end up with a rip off of whatever eyeshadow palette is currently sold out, every now and then they give us something amazing like this! The Tarte Shape Tape Concealers have been on everyone’s favorite lists for over a year now, but with this new cheap release, there may be a new favorite in town.
The main appeal of the original Shape Tape is the high coverage, crazy pigmented formula, making excessive piling on of concealer a thing of the past. So the main question is, does the MUR dupe have the same amount of coverage in the same small amount? I say yes! This new concealer is creamy and pigmented without being too thick and cakey. Both concealers are so easy to blend, especially on my under eye area, and I actually find the MUR product to be a bit more hydrating on my skin.
Another great feature of the Shape Tape Concealer is how long lasting and crease free it looks all day long. While the MUR concealer is for sure long lasting, I do find I need to set it with a powder pretty quickly or else it will begin to crease the tiniest bit.
People either love or hate the Tarte product, and I feel that will also translate to this new substitute. The best part about this new concealer is of course the price tag, so I suggest picking up one of these the next time you find yourself at Ulta, especially if you love Shape Tape but hate the price.
