I know that warm eyeshadow palettes are always the most popular, but I truly do love a cool toned palette that isn’t blue or green based. Mauve eyeshadow is so mature and sultry to me, and it pairs well with so many lipstick shades. This was my first time trying out the Dose of Colors shadow formula, and it reminds me so much of my beloved Modern Renaissance palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. There is quite a bit of kick up when you first dip your brush in, but the colors are so blendable it doesn’t matter.
I have been wearing this palette every day to work since I got it. Because every shade is matte, it always look muted and perfect for day to day wear. I love pairing mauve shadows with bronze eyeliner smudged everywhere and a nude blush/lip combo. Let’s get into some swatches of each shade a little bit about how I use them!
Fluffy
“milky pale pink”
This bright color is perfect for blending out any harsh lines at the top of the crease. I like to use my big Bobbi Brown Eye Blender Brush to buff this all over my lid to set my primer and then focus a little extra on my brow bone.
Rosy
“light rosy pink”
This pink is great for buffing into the crease and a bit above as a transition shade. I like to use this color all over my lid as well by itself just to add a bit of brightness and color to my face.
Wishy Washy
“dusty mauve”
This is definitely my favorite shade in the palette, it is the perfect mauve shadow. Not too grey, not too pink! I blend this all throughout my crease and on the outer half of my lid. I also smudge this on my lower lash line to really blow out my liner.
Spaced Out
“muted berry mauve”
This shade has a pretty red base, so it prefer to use it with a very light hand. I use a small crease brush to add a bit of this to my outer corners and lower lash line if I want any warmth in my look.
Wine Stain
“blackberry”
Every palette needs a deep matte shade to round it out, and this dark blackberry color is perfect. I love smudging this in the outer v and on the very corner of my lower lash line. The purple base really brings out the green in my eyes, and it deepens up a look without having to use the usual matte black.
