Some Recent Empties

For the past year almost I have been throwing all my empty bottles in a little bin under my desk, and now I think I finally have enough to make an interesting post! I test out a whole lot of products so when I finish something up completely, I always have a pretty well formed opinion on the product. Let’s get into some reviews!

L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara $9.99

When this mascara came onto the scene last summer, people fell in love, and for good reason. A cheap alternative to the beloved Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, this formula is very thickening and perfect for all different types of lashes. I have short, straight lashes and this gives me volume without the spidery effect. This is a drier formula so it can be a tiny bit clumping, but I actually like the look.

Would I repurchase?

Yes, I already have. Just in the Black Brown shade though because I prefer it for no-makeup makeup days.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer $29.00

One of my favorite concealers of all time, this stuff is perfect for my slightly dry under eye area. It has a very thin consistency, so it never looks heavy or caked on, but once it dries down it lasts all day. I can also use this on blemishes because it is so pigmented and long lasting.

Would I repurchase?

Already have, and an extra back up when it was on sale recently.

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer $31.00

I finally finish a tube of this cult classic primer! I have large pores around my nose and chin, so a pore filling primer is a must have for me. This stuff does a great job of smoothing out my imperfections without feeling too heavy on my skin, and it never clogs my pores. It sits beautifully under every foundation I have paired it with so far.

Would I repurchase?

Most likely yes, once I run out of the multiple little sample tubes I currently have.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Ro(Cocoa) $25.00

I have yet to find a more long lasting, smudge proof liner! This formula is creamy enough to glide on the eye without tugging, and it never transfers to my under eye area. I have hazel eyes, and something about this color just really makes them pop. I was surprised by how long this lasting me (about a year) considering I wear it almost daily. This shade has shimmer to it, but they recently expanded the line to include mattes if that is more your style.

Would I repurchase?

Already have, and I have added a few more shades to my collection.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb $22.00

This was a large sample that I fell in love with after scraping every last bit out! I have oily skin, so I tend to prefer a more water/gel like consistency in my moisturizers, and this is the best of the best. Just a tiny bit of this hydrates my skin all day without the heavy greasiness of a thicker cream. I have some dryness around my nose sometimes as well and this takes care of that perfectly. It sits really well under primer and foundation as it has a tiny bit of tackiness before it fully dries down.

Would I repurchase?

I loved this so much I bought the full size tub!

Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray $35.00

I am usually one for a traditional primer, but this sample spray I got with my setting spray really impressed me. It gives you a really tacky but hydrated base that grips make up all day long. If you want a super easy and quick start to your make up routine, give this spray a try!

Would I repurchase?

Technically I did, but I bought the full size bottle of the Oil Control version because of my oily/combo skin.

Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara $3.99

My empties will always be filled with drugstore mascaras, and most likely one of these will make an appearance! I have been using this mascara for a few years now and it never fails me. Extremely affordable, even for the drugstore, this stuff is perfect for all different kinds of lashes. The wand is perfect for getting right at the base of the lashes to add volume without the clumps.

Would I repurchase?

Yes, the next time I see a Jordana display at Walgreens, sadly there isn’t one close to my house so I rarely find myself there.

Jordana Best Length Extreme Lengthening Mascara $4.49

I picked this item up for the first time after falling in love with the Best Lash Extreme, and they are the perfect combination for my short straight lashes. While the first one gives me volume, this lengthens my lashes without making them look spidery or clumped together.

Would I repurchase?

Yes, hopefully I find my Walgreens soon!

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre $16.00

During the fall and winter months my combination skins tends to lean dry, and I have yet to find something as good as this stuff to hydrate my dry spots. This cream is very thick and heavy, but when your skin is dry as the desert and red from cold winds, this feels like absolute heaven. Despite it being so thick, it never clogs my pores or makes me look greasy, just hydrated and happy!

Would I repurchase?

Yes, I just recently bought the larger sized tube.

Kristin Ess The One Signature Shampoo $10.00

I just recently posted all about this amazing Target only brand, so check that out here if you want to see why I go through this stuff so quickly! This shampoo really gets my hair clean without stripping it of all the good stuff. It doesn’t dry out my already parched ends despite being lightly clarifying and very foamy. I also love how this makes my hair smell all day!

Would I repurchase?

Already have and will continue to do so, if only because of how affordable it is for the quality.

Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner $15.00

I have a few toners that I love, but this one just did nothing for my skin. It is extremely gentle which is what drew me to it, but it was too gentle and I didn’t notice any difference after using it. Mario Badescu has some more intense toners that I will most likely be trying out soon, this one just underwhelmed me. If you have extremely sensitive skin, you might love this mild formula!

Would I repurchase?

No, I just didn’t notice a difference and I have other toners I much prefer.

Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Facial Oil $40.00-$80.00

One of my newer skin loves (much to my wallet’s dismay), this product has changed the way I feel about facial oils. This is the best thing I have found to diminish my cystic acne, it penetrates deeply enough to heal my skin from the inside out, and yet it never irritates my skin. If you struggle with painful, hormonal break outs like me, get a sample of this stuff and fall in love with it too!

Would I repurchase?

Already have, this is totally worth the steep price tag for me.

Sunday Riley Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner $55.00

A perfect companion to the UFO Oil, this gel toner is my go-to morning product after my cleanser. It mattifies my skin without every stripping it of the good stuff, and minimizes the appearance of the larger pores around my nose and chin.

Would I repurchase?

Already have, this stuff keeps me matte without the tightness or dryness.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser $15.00-$38.00

This gentle cleanser is a bestseller for a reason, all skin types can benefit from using it! I prefer using this in the morning because it calms any redness I may have while leaving my skin feeling clean and ready for the day. The light cucumber scent really wakes me up, and it has almost a cooling feeling on the skin. This cleanser is also great at removing the last bits of makeup that may be left on my skin from the day before.

Would I repurchase?

Already have, this stuff is gentle and perfect for when my skin needs calming down.

Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 $28.00

After my most recent haircut, I got an Olaplex treatment and was amazed at how smooth and healthy my hair looked and felt. Of the three steps in the treatment, the third is the only one you can buy and take home, and it works kind of like a touch up. It may seem like a lot of money for a small bottle of hair mask, but just a touch of this on my ends for a few minutes changes the texture completely. Next time you get your color touched up, ask them to throw in an Olaplex treatment, you won’t regret it!

Would I repurchase?

Already have, nothing smooths my split ends better!

Tata Harper Clarifying Mask $68.00

I was so excited to try out this expensive mask, but kind of disappointed in the results. When I saw the word clarifying I thought I would rinse it off and have beautiful new skin, but I only noticed some light irritation around my nose! If you have stronger skin than me, you might like this intense mask, but it just didn’t do enough for me considering the insane price tag.

Would I repurchase?

No, just because I find it kind of silly to spend that much on a face mask when it didn’t make the biggest difference for me.

Let me know what you’ve finished up recently!

Glowingly yours,
