When people use the word ‘experience’ to describe the process of application, my ears perk up. It seems so silly, it’s just make up right? Well after hearing so many people unable to properly describe the feel of this new face powder from Becca, I knew I had to try it out.

The ingredients are listed as 50% water and glycerin, which is strange for a powder. How exactly can a face powder contain water, and what benefits does that have for setting my face? I wish I could say I cracked the code of how to perfectly describe this stuff, but I just can’t quite put my finger on it! You can definitely feel the moisture in the powder, it is so finely milled it actually feels like applying velvet to your skin. It does feel hydrating and wet when you first apply it, but it doesn’t look greasy or shiny at all. It feels very cooling when you first apply it, and once it dries down it has an almost satin matte finish.

I don’t like using this under my eyes because I’m not crazy about how it settles there, but I have been loving to set my entire face with this before going in with bronzer, blush and highlight. Other face powders blend so beautifully on top of this, and I really do think it makes my face colors stay brighter longer.

I have brought this along in my purse a few times to work to test how well it refreshes my make up, and I was actually pretty impressed. The packaging may seem a bit bulky for travel, but the plastic lid and mesh cover are mess free and practical. I have used a touch of this on my nose and cheeks throughout the day when I am looking a little dry and dull, and it sits as perfectly as it does when I apply it in the morning. This doesn’t do much in terms of mattifying, but it never really claimed too so I don’t expect it.
