Buxom Wanderlust Primer-Infused Blushes

I think I may have done it. I think I may have found the longest lasting, most beautiful powder blushes on the market. About three weeks ago I was perusing Ulta and saw these blushes tucked away on a bottom shelf, and I decided to pick up just one to test it out. I own pretty much everything that Buxom makes in the shade “Dolly” because it is my favorite kind of mauve, so I went with that shade, grabbed some other stuff and almost forgot about it after putting it away in my blush drawer.

Two days later when I was sitting at my vanity doing my make up for work, I remembered that I had a few new products to try out, and I reached for Dolly. The next afternoon I drove to Ulta and bought two more shades immediately. Dolly lasted on my skin perfectly from 7 AM until I took my makeup off at 6 PM, not a single bit of fading. These have to be the longest lasting blushes I have ever tried, they stay on the face like a liquid pigment blush, but they have the easy application of a powder. The three that I bought are all extremely pigmented though, so use a very light hand and build up the color slowly because once these are on your face, they are staying put. Let’s get into some swatches and a review of each shade I have!

Dolly

“absolute mauve”

Dolly is one of those shades that is intimidating in the pan, but looks good on absolutely everyone. Mauve has been everywhere the past few years, and with good reason. It is my go to color in cheek and lip products for when I want to look effortlessly put together with minimal effort. It is also the best color to use for a monochromatic make up look, because it translates beautifully onto the eyes, cheeks and lips all at once.

Mykonos

“peach”

Peach blushes are my weakness, I collect them like trading cards and I don’t plan on stopping. This straight up peach shade has enough shimmer in it to add dimension to the cheeks, but not so much that it looks chunky and unnatural. This is probably the most pigmented of the three so I like to use a very fluffy blush and the lightest hand possible to get the perfect day-to-day flush.

Seychelles

“bronze”

As of now, this shade is my favorite of the three, mostly because I can use it as a blush/bronzer/highlight mix because of the bronze undertones and shimmer. I have been throwing this and nothing else on my cheeks after foundation every day for the past two weeks for work. It adds just the right amount of color to make me look awake and sunkissed, but never cakey or overdone. This shade is the easiest to work with of the three because the color is the most natural so it is much harder to over-apply.
